UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Film producer Cassandra Noble’s meteoric rise is derailed when her egomaniacal boss, Harvey Rosen, bullies her into ‘fixing’ his troubled movie in Paris. An unexpected entanglement with her Parisian co-producer sets off a chain of career-killing, integrity-smashing and ultimately heart-breaking events that force Cassandra into a debilitating crisis of conscience. Will she find her way through Hollywood’s minefield, its maze of lies, betrayals and seductions? Can Cassandra have it all - love, career, security - and stay true to herself?

From quirky off-beat indies to Hollywood blockbusters, Anne Simonet’s 25 years in film production has given her an insider’s view to both the grit and glamour of the movie business. She has worked with A-list celebrities, up-and-coming outliers, and Academy Award winners. With experience on locations ranging from Singapore to Chicago, Miami to Bangkok, Anne has done, seen or heard it all. She knows what it takes to get a movie made. Seeking sanctuary from the high octane world of film-making, Anne built a cabin in the tall timbers of the British Columbia coast and wrote Unfinished Business. When not writing, she enjoys walking the mountains and streams of BC with her dog, eating good food with her husband and drinking wine with friends. Oh, and France, there’s always France.

“September sang in the City of Light. The streets were crowded as Parisians returned from holidays, opened their shops and filled the cafes with the buzz of the summer’s news. As the taxi raced towards the center of old Paris, Cassandra drank in the sophisticated bohemia and exotic colors of the foreign lands now woven into the fabric of this great city.”
After years in the writing room, all I got were rounded shoulders, a pot belly and a novel I’m really proud of.

QUOTES
"The film business is not about morals or art. It’s about the bottom line. Rosen made hit movies, had a track record. Behind him stood a legion of lawyers, limitless leverage and absolute power over every aspect of the All Star product."

"It's not always about the money, Harvey," Cass said. "It's always about the money," Rosen snarled.
She persisted, "this is about my reputation." "Reputations come with expiration dates, Noble."
